My Japanese Coach

by ElectTech on December 11, 2008

Dear Santa,
So there’s a foreign exchange student in our school named Toshi and he’s really rad.  He draws these amazing pictures, but when I try to ask him about them, he answers in Japanese.  I thought it would be really cool to be able to talk to Toshi and see if he wants to hang out and play Nintendo.  First, I think I need to get “My Japanese Coach” for the Nintendo DS you’re going to get me.  I don’t think this should count as a present though, because it’s educational and it’s really not even for me, it’s for Toshi.

I would be able to explore Japan through lesson plans that take place within interesting locations ranging from Tokyo to the country side.  I’d also learn all sorts of useful information for first time Japanese speakers planning to visit the country, or talk to their rad foreign exchange student and I’d learn to pronounce sounds unique to Japanese by comparing my voice to a native speaker.  The voice recording and playback feature of the DS would let me compare my accent to a native Japanese speaker too.  Oh, and I would never tell anyone this, but I love calligraphy and I could develop my calligraphy skills as I traced over animations showing the proper way to write in Japanese

Thanks!
Ralphy
